China Guardian will hold the 2016 autumn auctions from November 12-16, with a preview from November 9-11 at the Beijing International Hotel’s convention center.
This year, China Guardian will present 38 sessions in the categories of Chinese paintings and calligraphy, 20th century and contemporary Chinese art, porcelain, jade and art works, rare books, and coins and stamps.
Moreover, 24 sessions among the 2016 autumn auctions will open for online bidding, aiming to provide more convenient service for collectors.
Chinese painting and calligraphy
The China Guardian 2016 Autumn Auctions will bring together more than 1,300 masterpieces by famous Chinese painting and calligraphy artists, which are brilliant and worth the wait. This section includes "Grand View: Chinese Painting Highlight", "Modern Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", and "Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy" among other sessions.
"Grand View Night", as a market benchmark, has led the Chinese art market with its excellent quality over the years. China Guardian will present many important works of modern and classical Chinese painting and calligraphy.
This year, the session "Grand View: Chinese Painting Highlight – Classical" especially collects dozens of masterpieces since Chinese Song and Yuan dynasties, like The Guofang by Zengyu, and Peony Flower by an anonymous Song dynasty painter.

The autumn auctions also set a special night session of "Grand View - Interest of Nature: Paintings and Calligraphy of Yangzhou School", which gathers 39 excellent works from 12 painters from Yangzhou School.
In additional, the session "Grand View: Chinese Painting Highlight – Modern" presents works of the most famous Chinese painters in the modern era. Fu Baoshi’s Singing Beauty, Zhang Daqian’s Landscape after Ju Ran, and Qi Baishi’s Lotus Studio are the highlights of the session.

20th century and contemporary Chinese art
Following good feedback on the "20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale", and "‘85 New Wave Art", this section brings a new session of an “Oil Painting Master’s Manuscript Sale”. It will present several important art works that served as milestones in the history of Chinese contemporary art.
Among them is Shi Chong’s Walking Man, which won the Gold Award at the second Annual Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting. Liu Xiaodong’s Through the Ages, Heroes Have Come from the Young, is one of his representative works.Wu Dayu’s Rhythm No.60 is also a rare high-quality work.

Porcelain, Buddhist images
This section includes Ming and Qing porcelain, fine and rare jades, contemporary jade carvings, Zisha teapots, and bronze Buddhist images.
For the section on porcelain, an extremely rare and fine jar with patterns of deer roaming in forests from the reign of the Qing dynasty’s Emperor Qianlong is a highlight.
