Since its establishment in 2005, China Guardian Quarterly Auctions have gradually developed into the largest and the most prestigious off-line trading platform in the Chinese art market over the past 12 years.
China Guardian’s service and expertise in the art market has won recognition from collectors.
As CEO Hu Yanyan said: “For a long time, we have devoted ourselves to building China Guardian Quarterly Auctions into an important platform to ‘make art accessible to the public’ and to make a connection for green-hand collectors to the art market. We have to make a change to the public’s stereotype impression of the ‘sky-high price auction items” in the art market so as to let more people understand the beauty of art. We also want to make China Guardian Quarterly Auctions a good carrier of Chinese culture.”
China Guardian is busy setting up a “one-stop” artworks exchange platform, the China Guardian Art Center, which will be launched in Beijing this autumn.
After months of collecting items from around the world, the first quarterly auctions of this year will feature nearly 6,000 pieces, including Chinese painting and calligraphy, 20th century and contemporary art, porcelain, furniture, manuscripts, stamps, and coins.
