The 35th quarterly auction, which will be held from September 14 to 17, will offer close to 6,500 items ranging from Chinese paintings and calligraphy, furniture, porcelain and artwork along with ancient books, according to China Guardian.
Among the 3,200 pieces of Chinese paintings and calligraphy, a few highlights will include Zhong Sicong’s painting CHARACTER, Huang Zhou’s CHARACTER, Zhang Daqian’s PINE ORCHID AND PLUM, and Jiang Zhaohe’s CHARACTER. In addition, the painting LANDSCAPE by Wu Guanzhong will be offered, together with hundreds of modern Chinese ink paintings and other works provided by the art institution Cuiyuxuan, which boasts an abundant collection of art by famous Chinese artists.
For the porcelain, furniture and art sales, about 2,700 items will be made available, including a much anticipated porcelain bowl featuring contrasting colors and a jade dragon pot from the Qing Dynasty.
The furniture that will be available at the auction features many quality wood items, including a big Hualimu table with inverted flanges and a Huanghuali cabinet. Traditional Chinese embroidery will be included along with, Louis Vuitton travel luggage and special bags, and even silver pots.
In addition, about 600 ancient books and rubbings will be on sale. The highlights include some notes on reading by Weng Qinxi, a much respected Qing Dynasty scholar, and some notes by Kang Youwei and Li Hongzhang, two influential early 20th century Chinese literary figures.
