China Guardian Auctions Co., Ltd. announced today that the company has been appointed as the exclusive auction partner of Olympex, the Olympic Expo 2008 Beijing. The Olympex, is the first ever exposition held during the Olympic games in the Olympic history. The event, co-sponsored by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Chinese Olympic Committee (COC), the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and China Post Group, will be held from August 8 to August 18, 2008 at the Beijing Exhibition Center.

“The Olympex, Olympic Expo 2008 Beijing?China Guardian Special Auction” preview starts on August 8, 2008, on the same date of the opening of the Olympex. The auction items will include about 300 pieces of art works, stamps, coins and other memorabilia related to Olympic and sports. A group of 92 pieces of oil painting with the portraits of the Olympic leaders, officials and 87 Chinese Olympic Gold Medallists from 1984 to 2000. Among them, the most significant work is the portrait of Juan Antonio Samaranch, the Honorary President for Life of the International Olympic Committee, painted by Profession Jin Shangyi, a maestro of oil painting in China. Other auction items are the torches of the past Games, Olympic stamps, coins and etc.
