On August 15 the “Olympex: the Olympic Expo Beijing 2008 · China Guardian Auction” the hammer fell at the Beijing Exhibition Hall,“Passing the Splendor”with more than 100 Olympic commemorative items, stamps and coins from collections—Olympic sport themed works of art, stamps and memorabilia were all put up for auction. Together, the auction resulted in over 1,500,000 RMB,with over 81% of lots selling.

As the first of it's kind, this pioneering special auction at the Olympic Expo was full of profound historical significance. In addition, this auction was held simultaneously with the Beijing Olympic games, so there was idespread community involvement, and many sports lovers and collectors participated. The Torch of 1936 Berlin Olympic Games was sold for RMB 168,000(USD25,075). The Torch of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games auctioned for a notable RMB 291,200(USD43,463).Greece, Athens 1896 Games of theⅠOlympiad Issue, a set of 12 mint stamps,the most precious issue of all Olympic stamps reached prices of RMB 30,240(USD4513).
