China Guardian (Hong Kong) Autumn Auctions 2014 will be held on Oct 6-7, with a preview on Oct 4-5 in the ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. The auction will present over 1,000 pieces in six sessions from four categories, including Chinese painting and calligraphy, porcelain and artworks, modern Chinese arts, and watches and jewelry.
Hu Yanyan, president of China Guardian (HK) said, “China Guardian has been here for three years. Our team has become more mature and familiar to the business environment of Hong Kong. Employers are increasing, and our business is expanding to oil painting, porcelain, jewelry, jade, watches and modern arts. I believe more collectors will be attracted by our rich, ancient and modern artworks.”

Chinese painting and calligraphy
The painting and calligraphy auction will offer exquisite works by famous scholars from the Qing and Ming Dynasties, including Wang Duo, Dong Qichang, Zhang Lu and Kun Can. Highlights include collections from the host of Leyizhai studio, Marie-Hélène and Guy Weil, Landscape by Wen Zhengming and Calligraphy by Dong Qichang from the Ming Dynasty.
In modern Chinese ink painting, we offer works by famous modern artists from the mainland, Taiwan and overseas, including Lv Shoukun, Liu Guosong and Fang Zhaolin, three ink painting pioneers in Hong Kong. Other highlights include artworks with international influence by Zao Wou-Ki, Pan Gongkai, Liu Qinghe, Qin Feng, Wu Yi and Yang Jiecang. In addition, works from the post-70s and 80s artists Zeng Jianyong, Xiao Xu, Li Jun and Hang Chunhui will be for sale.

The special auction session, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, will present over 300 masterpieces by Zhang Daqian, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Fu Baoshi, Huang Binhong, Pan Xinshe and Wu Guanzhong, influential 20th century Chinese painters.
Contemporary Chinese Art in 20th century
In this part, highlights include works from the early era of Chinese oil painting by Wu Dayu, Guan Liang, Wu Guanzhong, Zao Wou-Ki, Zhu Dequn and Chen Yinpi. Paintings by Liu Guoson, a leading figure in modern Chinese ink paintings; Hao Liang, the young modern artist; Wang Guangle, the pioneer of abstract painting and Cai Guoqiang, the modern famous artist, are also included.

The auctions also will include porcelain, jade, writing paper, ink and brush, bronze ware and Buddha statues.
One highlight is a blue and white porcelain vase from the Qing Dynasty, made during the Yongzheng period (1723-1735). Considering its delicate pattern and colorful flower design, it is worth special attention.

Another highlight is a jade bracelet about 11mm thick, 10mm in width and 60mm in diameter. Its bright color, fine texture, transparency and glossy surface are worth your attention.
