The 44th China Guardian Quarterly Auctions will be held at the Beijing International Hotel in Beijing, from Dec 19 to 20, 2015.
The auctions will feature over 2,000 items which include Chinese paintings and calligraphy, porcelain, rare books, jade and works of art.
Chinese paintings and calligraphy
In this section, about 1,000 items will be auctioned in three special sessions: "Modern and Contemporary Ink Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", "Modern Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", and "Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy".
China Guardian collected many treasures for this winter’s auction. Among them, Zhang Daqian’s Golden Whip Cliff of Qingcheng Mountain and Huang Zhou’s Donkeys are highlighted.
Zhang’s painting was created in the 1940s after returning from Dunhuang. It was painted on the old paper of Qing Dynasty, which reflects the exact color of the golden whip cliff. The magnificent mountains and elegant landscape is vividly revealed on the paper.
