The fourth International Forum on Chinese Antiques & Artworks Auction and awards ceremony, Qinghua Awards, were held in Shanghai on Aug 19. Over 200 major operators, service providers and researchers, together with auction associations attended the forum.

With the theme “Borderless Auction Industry”, the forum focused on the development of the Chinese antique and art auction industry from a global perspective, upgrading the art market and coordinating development of the international auction market at a higher level. Leaders from the Ministry of Culture, State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Shanghai municipal government and the China Association of Auctioneers attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches.
In her keynote speech, Hu Yanyan, director and president of China Guardian International Auction, said that in the context of globalization, China’s auction industry was full of opportunities and challenges. Local auction agencies should keep pace with international trends and improve core competitiveness, in addition to utilizing favorable resources. China Guardian would do its part to create a "borderless auction industry”.

The Qinghua Awards are the highest awards for antiques and art auction. China Guardian won eight awards for its outstanding market performance and professional service.
China Guardian was ranked as “annual top 10 companies in 2016” for its excellent overall performance according to several professional indicators. In terms of quality and market performance, China Guardian received six prizes, including the Settlement Capability Award,, Profitability Award, Scale Award, Industry Award, Tax Record Award and Revenue Award. A special Annual Donation Award for Public Welfare was also given to China Guardian.

This year is considered the “Year of China Guardian”. Apart from winning eight Qinghua Awards, the Guardian Art Center, the first one-stop art exchange platform, will open soon.
The autumn celebration auction for China Guardian (HK)’s 5th anniversary in 2017 will be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sept 30 to Oct 3. The auction will include Chinese painting and calligraphy, classical furnishings, porcelain and handicrafts, jewelry and luxuries, together with art from the 20th century and contemporary art in Asia.
