On March 18, a donation transfer ceremony was held at the China Guardian Art Center in Beijing, marking the transfer of all the money raised by China Guardian, to a special fund run by Dongrun Foundation.
A total of 16,954,220 yuan ($2,396,153), including 15,745,600 yuan ($2,221,821) raised from Highest Sincerity, a commission-free online charity auction, and about 1.2 million yuan ($169,250) donated by the auction house itself, will be used by the special fund for the welfare of the outstanding medical workers in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic and the education of their children.

"Since Jan 23, the heart of every employee of China Guardian has been with the hearts of those in Wuhan. The epidemic outbreak worried us all and I was thinking about what we could do for Hubei province and Wuhan in particular," said Ms.Hu Yanyan at the ceremony.

"Thus, we immediately responded to the initiative of the China Association of Auctioneers to support Wuhan by teaming up with artists, collectors and the Dongrun Foundation, to show our care for those medical professionals on the front lines by offering them solid financial assistance," She added.
To ensure the success of the charity auction, employees of all departments have been working around the clock for weeks without any complaint. Hence, we auctioned off all of the 168 items and then successfully collected all the payments within seven days, Ms. Hu Yanyan recalled.

Ms. Kong Dongmei said that the Dongrun Foundation had sent the raised money to 100 medical professionals nearly as soon as it was received on the afternoon of March 17. As of now, the special fund has provided financial aid to a total of 2,584 people, including 1,608 medical workers who have died from fighting the epidemic or been infected with the virus and 976 children of those medical workers.

Chinese contemporary artist Ai Jing, said at the ceremony on behalf of all participating artists, that she was glad that her work, LOVE, was a part of the charity auction, and she firmly believed that art can bring warmth and power to society in general.
"Our country has never experienced such a severe epidemic in recent history and it concerns us all. Many artists soon started to create artworks in response to the call of China Guardian. We’re also thankful that we were given this opportunity to do our part to help our country and fellow citizens in this national crisis," said Chinese calligrapher and painter Yang Mingyi.

A Review of Highest Sincerity – China Guardian's Charity Campaign

To help Wuhan, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, China Guardian took a lead in mobilizing the whole auction industry in China by contacting the China Association of Auctioneers and the Dongrun Foundation by immediately responding to the association's initiative to support Wuhan.
Feb 3
China Guardian donated 1 million yuan ($142,887.8) through the Dongrun Foundation to the special fund for the welfare of the outstanding medical workers in fighting the epidemic and the education of their children. Meanwhile, the auction house started to organize Highest Sincerity – China Guardian Online Charity Auction, which won rave responses from a great number of artists, collectors and art institutes.

Highest Sincerity – China Guardian Online Charity Auction was launched. In the following seven days for preview and bidding, the auction attracted about 1 million views and more than 700 bidders from 21 provinces and cities across the country.
March 3
Highest Sincerity – China Guardian Online Charity Auction was successfully wrapped up and 168 items were successfully auctioned off, fetching a total of 15,745,600 yuan ($2,221,821).

Employees of China Guardian donated 208,620 yuan ($29,426), and the company's donation to Wuhan totaled 1,208,620 yuan ($170,475).
